BRAND STRATEGY, IDENTITY, DESIGN AND SIGNAGE
Other Religion Projects
Faith-based organizations appreciate the visual hospitality conveyed through our approach to brand communications.
St. John’s Abbey
The monks at Saint John’s Abbey were in need of a style guide to help them unify and coordinate the independent efforts of their many offices and services. We began by refreshing their primary identity elements, and establishing the basis for a system that could be applied across a broad range of branded communications. The cross emblem, based upon an original design by the late Frank Kacmarcik, was optimized for more effective viewing across all media platforms.
Brand Strategy / Style Guide / Brand Identity Design / Print Media Design
We’ve been working with this great company for over two decades and the collaborations continue. While our work with GIA extends far beyond CD covers, these designs exemplify our philosophy of simple potency.
We were honored to be selected as the principal design consultant for a new hymnal used worldwide by Lutherans, a resource that’s redesigned only once every few decades. We teamed up with Nicholas Markell of Markell Studios, who provided the iconic images used throughout. Working with Nick, we crafted a solution that more intimately married image with text, beauty with meaning. The information architecture utilizes a typeface family that was originally designed for wayfinding in the subway systems of Prague. How appropriate for a book that guides worshippers through such varied and rich content. The end result was met with rave reviews worldwide. For several years, KantorGroup also designed Augsburg’s iconic Sundays and Seasons line of ritual planning aids.
St. Thomas the Apostle
This large Minneapolis faith community needed a brand strategy and identity that reflected its urban reach and mission. Learn more about this project here.
Immaculate Conception School
The first new Catholic school to be built in Rhode Island in over 42 years needed a brand identity that was modern, yet connected to the tradition and theological meaning of the school’s name. To unify the school with its founding parish, we developed a master brand emblem that could be applied to both.
The visual brand elements were ultimately deployed throughout the school’s other branded items and architecture.

A ground-breaking book
KantorGroup’s founder, Daniel Kantor, authored this book to serve as a resource for faith-based organizations interested in leveraging the unique, untapped potential that graphic design represents when seen through the lens of sacred art. We are proud to have also designed this book, which is the first book to take on such a timely subject.
The work we do is highly strategic and proprietary, so much of it can’t be shown due to non-disclosure agreements with our clients. Following is a good sampling of just some of our work.
